For some of older vintage, skateboarding reminds us of the 80s and 90s. The Bones Brigade was looking for Animal Chin and Powell Peralta was the top brand of skate decks. The “ollie” was coming into fashion and became the foundation for almost every skateboard trick that we know and love today.
The sport’s popularity has seen its ebbs and flows over the decades but it has seen a resurgence and even became a summer Olympic event. We are glad to see that the city of Kaiserslautern built a small park right downtown, across from the city hall and next to the Albert Schweizer Gymnasium.
Parking near the park is limited, especially during school hours. On the weekends, there is parking right next to it, but it’s a little pricy.
