These strange, concrete protrusions were meant to stop something heavy and dangerous

In the late 1930’s miles and miles of these barriers were built. Coupled with bunkers and other features, the “Siegfied Line” was built in response to the French Maginot Line. It was meant to protect Germany’s western flank. By the time it was put to use in late 1944, it was rendered useless against the onslaught of the Allied push into Germany.
Today, the remnants can be visited by the curious and we at KMCx encourage that curiosity.
There is plenty of parking along residential straight adjacent to the traps. Wear your hiking shoes because some of the terrain can be muddy.
