Although not a very large zoo, this one has everything you need. Otters, a lazy tiger, gibbons and plenty of free-walking chickens and peacocks. They even have a petting zoo where you can feed goats.
Located in part of an 18th century fort built by the French, this place is great for kids and you can even bring your dog (you’ll need a ticket for him!). It is advised that you pay attention at the monkey enclosure because the gibbons have a catwalk that spans the walkway and they will poop and pee on you (trust us, we almost got hit!).
Have fun and stay vigilant!
There is plenty of parking on the street and they have a small designated parking lot. If you can’t find anything there, you can park 500 meters away in the large lot just around the way.
They do have a restaurant but it is not open on Mondays or Tuesdays but you can bring your own food. There is a small kiosk that offers soft-serve icecream and drinks.
But since the pedestrian zone is about a half mile away, you can find plenty of places to eat there if you so choose.
