The Story:

This castle is just down the street from Vogelweh Housing and Kapaun. You may have even driven past it many times. Today, take the time to check it out and make some memories! Have a picnic at the tables just outside the castle close, then take the kiddos to the playground just to the east. You may hear bleating from time to time so be sure to look down the hill on the south side of the castle to see the goats.

Just so you know, this castle was destroyed multiple times throughout its life: The Peasants War (Bauernkrieg) and the Palatinate War of Succession (the French did it that time!). Funny thing is that many castles in this part of Germany suffered the same fate in the same wars. History, am I right?

Tips for a Good Trip:

There is no public parking next to the castle, so a hike or bike ride will be necessary. If you want to take some time to enjoy the castle and the surrounding forest, check out the map below!
