This little lake, tucked behind Merkurstrasse, offers a nice little reprieve from the hustle and bustle of city life

This lake is a popular local hiking and dog-walking spot. Tucked between the A-6 autobahn and Merkurstrasse, it is easily accessible. For fitness types, this is a great loop for running 5k or more, just keep running east on the Barbarossa Bike Path to the Hammerwoog Lake then keep going!
Bring a towel for you dog because there are plenty of places to access the water for a quick doggy-paddle!
The lake has it’s own parking lot accessible from Merkurstrasse. Don’t forget to stop by the Kunst Cafe for snacks and drinks!

We didn’t know about this lake for the longest time since it’s kind of hidden. Crazy that it’s just down Merkurstrasse from ROB!
